Custom Made Feather Pillows
We
custom-make feather pillows in your choice of ticking (pillow covers), filling, and
firmness. We also offer your choice of two covers for your pillow - the satiny floral stripe or the traditional
blue stripe.
For your pillow filling you may choose the crushed white duck feathers or goose
down feathers. If you are truly allergic to feathers, we sell a washable/dryable
hypoallergenic pillow from DuPont which has the look and feel of
a real feather pillow.
Be sure to check out our travel pillows, and our " Original Keepsake Feather Pillow " in the Pillow Shop store.
Pillow restoration :
Feather and Down Pillow Restoration - includes your choice of ticking
and additional fill (crushed white duck feathers or down) if necessary.
We can take old feather pillows or entire feather beds and create
new feather pillows. Unfortunately, at this time we cannot make new
feather beds but we can make many pillows out of an old bed.
We offer a reminder service and will contact you via e-mail or postcard
to remind you when it is time to clean your pillow.

Our special feather cleaning process and a new pillow ticking can literally
breath new life into an old cherished pillow.

The good
The bad

The Ugly
Step 1: A new ticking (pillow cover) is sewn with a corner left open for the cleaned
feathers to be blown back in.
Step 2: The open end of the new ticking is placed on the blower attachment
of the feather cleaning machine.
Step 3: The old pillow is opened on one end and the feathers are emptied
into the machine.
Step 4: When the machine is turned on, the drum turns as an ultraviolet
germicidal light sanitizes the feathers.
Step 5: The feathers fluff for approximately 15 minutes. Then the feathers
are blown into the new ticking at the other end of the machine.
If more feathers are needed, they are added at this time.
Step 6: The pillow is removed from the machine and the end of the pillow
is sewn shut.
Each new or restored pillow is sewn individually. Unlike, mass-produced
pillows, you will not find unraveling seams or protruding feathers.
Cleaning is recommended one time a year; your pillow should last
50 plus years.
The odor of a new/cleaned pillow is natural (sanitized smell)
and will go away within a couple of days.
3 ways to rid odor:
- Febreze
- Clothing Line
- Tumble in dryer with a dryer sheet (air only, no HEAT)
